“Mister Shaggy” is my alias as an author. I will have to remain vague about my biography for the time being, but I will share what I can. I believe that my views should be uncontroversial, but the real-world power of the self-anointed internet priests of outrage is shocking. I may have already earned a scolding for “reinforcing the patriarchy” by using the male-definite noun “priest” in my last sentence.
I am involved in Academia, and it is unfortunately likely that, should my full opinions become known, my colleagues would stand in silence as I am convicted of heresy. There is only so much that I can change by asking questions one-on-one. What I fear are the Inquisitors whose opinions are unyielding. It would be wonderful to find that fear to be overblown.
I truly enjoy thinking for its own sake, though it may just be the musing of a millennial. It seemed only right to make that thinking publicly available to those it can help.
